Say No to Another Denture: New Bone - New Teeth
This slide presentation depicts how a long term denture wearer faced with the usual recommendation of having her lower jaw prepared for a new denture was given new choices in tooth replacement.
The patient had only two (2) lower teeth remaining that accommodated a failing bridge. Her bite, occlusion and eating ability was extremely poor.
Dr. Nazarian was able to recommend instead a "regrowing" (augmentation) of new bone into the remaining bone she had to create a rock solid foundation for his proprietary 10 unit cantilevered bridge products, similar to the Nobel Biocare All On Four treatment procedure.
Once the bone grafting procedures had thoroughly healed, Dr. Nazarian strategically placed five (5) Oco Biomedical dental implants that provided the root form anchoring system for a ten (10) unit cantilivered bridge. New Ceramco porcelain teeth were individually crafted from impressions that matched upper jaw denture teeth, optimized for occlusion.
The attention to detail and occlusal analysis used for final fabrications recreated a bite, occlusion and comfortable fit the patient had not had in over 20 years.
Recommended viewing for patients considering availability of denture alternatives.
