Michigan Gum Disease Treatment Video
Arestin is an antibiotic, minocycline, which is a member of the tetracycyine class of antibiotics.
Minicycline exerts its antimicrobial activity by prohibiting protein synthesis of the bacteria and has been shown to be effective against the pathogens associated with periodontal disease.
Dr. Nazarian provides the Arestin product as a treatment choice for patients with varying degrees of gum infection. A non invasive treatment, Arestin is a powder that is blown into the pockets with a special syringe (plastic tube, not a needle).
It maintains its therapeutic drug concentration for up to 21 days of administration. When coupled with traditional therapies, Arestin can accelerate the process of eliminating and getting rid of diseased gums for most patients.
